Once upon a midnight dreary, it was pondered thus;

Will a Rev. C machine (Rev. 3 motherboard) to which a Rev. A ROM-SIMM has
intentionally been fitted work with a Trio?

My "Rev. 3A" machine is the most stable Beige G3 I own.

It is all UW-SCSI except for IDE Bus 0, Master, being a CD-ROM-R-R/W and
IDE Bus 1, Master, being a DVD-ROM-R-R/W.

[end of merciless edit]

My MT is a Rev C machine with a Rev 3 Mobo. I also have a 233 DT that's Rev
A/1. I plucked the ROM from the DT (Rev A/1) and placed it in the
corresponding ROM slot on the MT (Rev C/3) and....SYSTEM FREEZE (start up
chime, then gray screen forever). I had reset the CUDA, and Zapped PRAM
10x. I did not "unclock" the CPU (originally ?333/jumpered to ?434).

In my conclusion, I deemed this a failure and am returning the card for a
133 ATA Sonnet. I lusted for the Trio. Ah, love is a fickle thing....
