Greetings, good Mac compadres.
This is yet another OS X boot-up scenario:

Players: B+W G3/400mhz w/ OS 10.2.8 on the boot-up drive, that being an
Apple-ROMmed 7200 rpm ATA Western Digital (20gig)

The 2nd drive is a Seagate Cheetah (10gig) Ultra Wide SCSI (LVD/SE, with me
using it as an SE) 10,000 rpm, ID 6, term power enabled, hosted by an
Apple-ROMmed Adaptec 2940 Ultra LVD/SE PCI card (I've been told this card is
bootable - it is the card installed into G3s that are intended to be
servers, again, so I've been told) and an appropriate cable in between. I
would like to put OS 9.2.1 on this drive and use it for Classic Mode (and
hopefully bootable). This HD came to me w/ OS 9.1 on it, and easily mounts
and is recognized if I boot up under OS X. The drive mounts fine,
read/writes great - no problem here.

Problem 1:
If I boot up w/ the OS 9.2.1 CD, the SCSI drive does not mount

Problem 2:
I cannot get Disk Utility to allow me to put OS 9 drivers on this drive.
Whether from the boot system, or from booting off the CD, Disk Utility tells
me that (when the SCSI drive is selected) if the "Install OS 9 drivers" is
greyed out (which it is) then that means that this device (the drive I
presume) is not capable of using OS 9 with this machine.

HOW can this be?

Any help greatly appreciated.
Best regards,
Dana
