I have the 614+ as well. Here's how it's hooked up.
Hardwired to my G4 down stairs. And wireless to the imac upstairs.
The imac is always on OSX. I can have the G4 booted in OS 9 or X and it will
see the imac as long as it is in X. If the imac is booted in 9 I cannot see
it on the network. As long as both machines are in X either on can be seen.
