Hi Jake

In my experience you cannot use the television as a second monitor as the
frequency of the signal is too high to be much use with static images, its
pretty much included so that you can output video and some static Jpeg style
images to the tv screen in full screen mode. 

I use my PC laptop with an ATi Radeon with S-Video out to play movies on the
TV and it looks superb, however when you revert to the desktop on the TV
everything is blurred beyond belief. 

I haven't had a Mac with TV Out so I cannot say how good the image quality
would be. If you ever saw an Amiga running in interlaced mode, then thats
pretty much what the display looks like on the TV.
