On Sunday, 18 January 2004, I - along with 27 others from my Indiana Army National Guard unit - report for federal active duty service. All we know, for sure for now, is that we'll be stationed at various active Army posts, throughout the continental 48 states, for either security or truck driving duty (I'll be driving trucks). Of the 21 of us, plus 8 alternates (E-4 through E-7) that begin active duty, on Sunday, all of us that are E-4 (myself included) volunteered for this.
I've been changing/canceling e-mail subscriptions, the past 3 days, and in the case of this group, it's better for me to unsubscribe, for a while. This is because I'm not sure how long I'll be without Internet access, and especially since I don't yet know where, in the "lower 48," that I'll "land." As soon as/if/when possible, I'll re-subscribe, but until then there'd be a heckuva lot of e-mails stacking up, in my G-List subfolder, which would probably cause Entourage to puke on mom, who will be losing her "Mac guru" for a year. For now, I'm just letting y'all know that I'll be going offline, for an unknown period of time. I'll send my formal unsubscribe e-mail, on Friday. Maybe, with the right kind of saving over the next year, I can manage to buy myself a nice G5, or even a good used, and fast G4. Take care, all of you, and try not to give the moderators too much grief. ;) Matt Lawrence Connersville, IN -- G-List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
