There are both SCSI to USB and SCSI to FireWire converters. The are, however, harder and harder to find and cost about as much as equivalent replacement equipment. AND, they generally support only one SCSI device at a time.

Ratoc <http://www.ratocsystems.com/english/products/scsi.html> still sells both FireWire and USB converters, but to use them with a Zip drive you will also need a HD 50 to DB 25 connection adapter (possibly still available from Iomega), as well as the optional AC power adapter for the SCSI termination. Those items may or may not be required for the scanner. List prices? $89 for the FireWire, $69 for the USB and $29 for the AC adapter. Note that it's not completely clear from their web page whether the USB model will work with Macs for scanners. I'd write them an email (they do answer) before buying.

By comparison, you can get a refurb USB Zip 100 drive from the Iomega online store for $40. USB scanners as good as a typical SCSI model can be had for $60 or less.

I have a SCSI Zip drive and an HP ScanJet (SCSI) connected to my G3 AOI/ OS 9.2. Is there such a thing as a SCSI to USB adapter? If so, would I be able to connect these devices to my iBook G4, which is USB; and would the work properly or not? Can they be sharedd between the two computers?
