Should I buy a hub?
Or can I buy a card to go inside my machine?
I would rather put a USB card in my machine if possible.

Can I put a USB 2 card in this old Mac?
You can install a USB 2 card, although they are spendy compared to USB 1 cards. USB 1 peripherals will all run, albeit at USB 1 speeds, off the USB 2 card.

My 2 worth is get a good powered hub. Always useful, no matter how many ports the computer has.
