Finding myself with a "challenge" that I can't seem to get to the bottom of with my B & W 350MHz rev 2.

Noticed it a while ago with a memory upgrade, that the original keyboard and mouse were dead. The only way to turn the computer off was via uplugging (using the main power switch resulted in a grey screen and no shutdown). Solved it by moving to an ADB keyboard and mouse.

Recently decided to revisit this, and went with a brand new Apple USB keyboard, and removed a suspect SIMM and reseated the rest (I'd heard B&W's are sensitive). No problems until I plugged in a floppy drive, and got a message "low USB bus power" (or something very similar). Unpugged floppy, and no more issues, until I tried to install Panther, and after booting from the CD it was back to inoperative USB, grey screen, etc. Rebooted in Jaguar 10.2.8, and everything was fine again.

TechTool doesn't show any USB problem, and I'm at a loss. Any pointers (because I'd like to get Panther installed...)?

BTW, where's the 'cuda switch? I can see two likely candidates, side-by -side on the mobo.

Thanks,

Martin Bullen
