Recently, when starting up my Beige, it booted into my OS9 partition, instead of OSX
(default setting and when it came to the desktop, I got the standard "Date and Time is
wrong" message. Figuring it was the battery, I replaced it, thinking that this would
solve my problem.

However........

All of my system is plugged into a powerstrip, that I would turn off, once I shut the
machine off. Now, if I turn off the powerstrip, it loses all of its settings. All of
these years I thought that the battery was there in case of no power. Was I mistaken?

Everything works fine if I leave the powerbar on, so does this look like a battery
terminal problem or some other type of problem?

Thank You
