I'm considering mic's for my G3/300 now for voice recording to CD. My box came with a standard personality card, however I purchased a Wings AV card later. I've seen the "plaintalk" mic buy haven't purchased one of them.
I found a deal I couldn't refuse at Target on a "Singing Machine" Karoke mic with these specs: Uni-directional Dynamic Response...100 to 12,000 Hz (not sure what human spectrum is) Sensitivity...-76 dB +/- 3 dB @ 1,000 Hz Impedance...600 ohms +/- 15% It has a 1/8 inch adapter but I'm not sure of the length for making the contact like the "plaintalk" Apple mic. I can install the Wings card and use this mic for mono or buy the "plaintalk" and use with the basic card for stero as I under it now. Has anyone used the basic card with the plaintalk to record AIFF's on their G3? Is anyone with similar experience with the Wings card in their G3? What editors have you used to creat AIFF's and have you gone to Mp3 from it and burnt disc with any success. In my PC I have a DVD player and a LiteOn burner set as slave. The G3 only has a CD drive. How would you go about setting up a burner on the G3? Would I be better off using an external burner? I'm running OS 9.1 now and have nearly 5.5Gig free space to record on. I'd like to be able to replicate on the Mac what I've done with the PC. Then record a voice reading text. I'm wondering if the latter would be better done with a plaintalk mic and the basic card.(and use the Wings for music recording) Joel __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo!
