Firewire Question

I am currently have a Beige DT G3 Mac and a Mac PPC 9600 with CPU
upgrade XLR8 ZIF G3 / 400 MHz with Mac OS 9.1 installed which has been
running quite well and each has two internal SCSI hardrives installed,
each with OS 9.1 and each with DiskWarrior 2.1.1 and TechTool Pro 3.0.9
installed for cross checking and repair of the HDDs. I recently
installed PPA PCI Firewire cards in each, and I have created an
external Firewire drive consisting of a PPA Firewire enclosure
containing a Western Digital, IDE, Special Edition, 80 GB HDD, which
was immediately recognized by the computers with the hard drive icon
appearing on the desktop. It also would hold data files which were
openable. Since Drive Setup of Mac OS 9.1, won't partition a Firewire
drive, I got a friend of mine to reformat and partition the firewire HD
using OS X, into 4 approximately equal sized partitions of 18+ GB each
with HFS+. It all seems to be OK and the FW drive partitions check out
as without problem using Disk FirstAid 9.1 and TechTool Pro 3.0.9. When
I run the DiskWarrior 2.1.1 Graph of the FW partitions either from the
internal SCSI HDDs or from the DW 2.1.1 CD, I get the message:

"A graph of the Disk named "Untitled 1" cannot be created because
existing directory damage has been detected.
Please rebuild the directory of the disk named "Untitled" Error:( 2401,
- 60 )

When I then run the Rebuild, The rebuild proccess takes place and gives
the following result:

Directory was successfully rebuilt and replaced.
This disk is a Pure Mac OS Extended disk
Where Firewire (V 1.2)

Then when the Graph is run again the first message is repeated, and when
Rebuild is repeated, the second message also repeats. I don't know why
the Graph test will not work, especially since I am highly dependent on
DiskWarrior to keep the Mac in good function. Is this a Firewire
problem or some other malfunction?
One possible cause, I have wondered about, is whether the positioning
of the jumpers on the WD IDE HD could be at play. I couldn't find how
they should be set for Firewire, so I put the jumper for Master. Could
that be at play here? Any one with experience here?
Any help appreciated. Thank you,
Don Parsons
