Toast will not "copy" commercial DVD's as they are protected by CSS encryption.

However, here are a few links that will get you where you want to go:

It's not as easy as copying your CD's but it can be accomplished. It will require a little more time and work on your part, because,as you know, most commercial DVD's are >7gb and the blanks available to the public are 4.7gb. I believe that the dual layer discs and burners are right around the corner, though.

If it's any consolation, I'm able to do what you're asking about with my Pioneer A04.

I just ordered a Superdrive (Pioneer 104) for my beige MT and am wondering about the ability to make a backup copy of commercial DVDs. I have 2 kids, 5 1/2 and 4, and they are pretty hard on the CDs for the computer, so the first thing I do is make a backup copy of the CD and let them use that and store the original until I need to make another copy for them to use day to day.

My question is, can I make a backup copy of commercial movies for my own use? Will Toast 6 do this? Any helpful info is greatly > appreciated.
