I am using the Sonnet ATA RAID card in my G3B&W. The Sonnet, SIIG and Acard RAID cards are all three made by Acard. SIIG and Sonnet just rebrand them.
I just took a quick look at the pictures on OWC's web site, and it looks like the SIIG and Acard ATA (non-RAID) cards are the same card as well.
You did not say much about your hard drives: size, age, etc. In setting up my B&W I banged my head and ran in circles for a couple of weeks with various corruptions and odd system panics. It turned out to be a failing hard drive.
You could in fact have a defective PCI card. But, you might have a failing drive instead.
