Just got a new Mac that takes Serial ATA hard drives. I have a standard ATA drive that I want to transfer over. Has anybody used the adapter to do this? How does it work? Slower transfer rates, then?
Your better bet is getting an external Firewire case to put that drive in, though I'm pretty sure the G5's have an internal ATA bus, as well, don't they? That's what the optical drive is connected to. The question is a matter of does the cable reach and can you physically install the drive in there somewhere.
