thanks for the detailed reply. So it seems I have to get the scanners
working in OSX or would have to reboot into OS9 for that.

You wouldn't know how Quark, Adobe Illustrator, Acrobat, Indesign and
freehand OS9 versions cooperate in classic? Some definite positive
answers might be a good persuasion to try out OSX again.
