Larry: I have a G3-450 B&W Rev.1 running the same type setup. I have a Sony CRX160E CD-R/RW drive set as master, connected to the end of the cable. Connected to the middle of the cable is a Maxtor 51024U2 10GB HDD set as slave, sitting in the Zip drive bay. This setup is working fine for me. Don't know what else to tell you. Hope this helps.
