I've been running 10.3.2 (the latest Panther) on my Beige MT (466 G4, Radeon 7000, etc) I've seen a few odd problems and I wonder if anyone else has seen them too and/or whether they exist on other models. I've seen none of these in 10.2.8 which runs just fine on my machine.
I've had the Finder lock up on me several times. The menus continue to work and the recovery is to relaunch the Finder in Force Quit. But why? I've lost control of Classic several times. I can Force Quit Classic, but then I can't restart it without restarting the whole machine. I like to use Photoshop 5.5 rather than the bloated later versions. So Photoshop is a Classic app for me. The cursor on photoshop windows is jerky and you can barely draw with it. This was never a problem in 10.2.x. These things seem like bugs to me, but then, the Beige isn't a supported machine anymore, so one has to wonder. There are a number of things I like about Panther. The best is the new Monitor Calibration tool which actually works and gives images that match those I see in os9 on the same machine and monitor. I'd be interested in any comments or suggestions for fixes. Rich -- G-List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
