For the last 4-5 months I have been deprived ..... deprived of OSX. I've had lots of problems with my MB in my Beige G3MT. I finally got a replacement today and now I want to reinstall system 10 without losing all the stuff that I had installed. Like my bookmards and mail and other stuff.
I don't know what to throw away. I also would like to start buiding the system from 10.1 and up cause I think there are some pieces missing. I can't do this cause the system disk for 10.1 says there are newer compnents and it can't overwrite them.
What can I do to get a new system on there starting fromthe beginning since there is no way to do a clean install, I think.
Forget 10.1, go to 10.2 on that system, you'll be a LOT happier. Then you can just do an archive and re-install of 10.2 (rather than an update install) this is a feature that started with 10.2, iirc.
10.2 is vastly more usable, about 20% faster and a lot more stable than 10.1.
