Basically the boot CD checks the hardware and refuses to boot if it doesn't match up.


OK, but if there is an internal bootable HD how come the Mac doesn't find it and start from it, like it always do? Also, why doesn't the computer start from the internal HD *after* the Panther boot CD is removed from the drive?
