You will have to replace both processors, so you are correct.

The Digital Audio will upgrade to 1.5 MHz. Although I don't know why you
would want to spend that much money to upgrade. It would be better to
purchase a newer box ( MDD, etc ) just for the faster bus speed.

There are proponents for each model of older G4 Mac. I prefer the DA for bus
speed and form factor, (although I would love an additional 5.25 bay in
front). 

Take a look at this link. These are the 7455 Apple chip. Easy to replace,
and come with a three year warranty. You can get the upgrades under the 1
GHz speed for a reasonable price . I got luck and got the 933Mhz for $269.00
to replace my DA 533 7410 chip.
