As for more space for applications, they don't *have* to reside in Applications...you can always make another folder on a larger partition called 'More Applications' or whatever, and they'll work just fine.

I know, I have 'Apps-2' on a separate partition at the moment with the non-OS X Apps in but if I bin the Dev Tools it will no longer be necessary. I don't like phutzing with code etc. on my iMac anyway.
