... Someone mentioned a program that will tell me what is running in the back ground that might be interfering with the machine. At the risk of asking a stupid question, what do I need to ask Google to look for? Does that make sense?
I think it's "Swiss Knife" or something like that. It tells you if there is an application running in the background that won't quit, and force quit it. It does lots of other things. It's shareware but you can use it for free for a period.
