The Dock keeps vanishing on my wife's beige g3 with 10.2.8. When we look at
"dock Preferences" under apple menu, it loses whatever we had just put in
(like put dock on right, etc.) and defaults to a different set. Restarting
brings us back to normal. Sometimes the dock flits in and out, before
disappearing for good. Wnen it is gone, she can't get to the trash.
Trash the dock prefs file. Also, make sure you don't have 'automatically hide' on. Myself I always set it to that though, it's nice not having the dock in the way.
