Nope.  DV format takes a lot of storage.  I'm up to over 350 GB and I still get
crazy looking for space some time.  The specs you got with the drive are about
compressed video, like mpeg 2 or mpeg1.  Video on a DVD can be compressed at
several rates, but even amateurs like us using iDVD can get 1.5 hours in only
4.7 gigs.  DV format is compressed, but not nearly as much as finished video.  

But you can't edit mpeg or other hightly compressed videos.

Bit the bullet and buy more storage.  It is unbelievably cheap these days.

Otherwise, according to your description of your set up, you have everything you
need.
