I have four drives in my Beige G3, three on an 133 ATA and one on the
motherboard IDE, and I always forget about the 4 gig scsi outboard drive since I
never use it anymore.  Also a firewire drive.  Never had a problem adding or
pulling drives.  Got to keep the master-slave jumpers correct.  Got to make sure
they are formatted correctly or have the appropriate drivers if they are on the
ide or ATA pci card.

But I never had to zap pram or cuda or anything.  I haven't followed your
thread, but something else is going on if you are having a problem.
