Doug, 

You are correct that there are no issues with the partition on a B&W. I
recently purchased two used units for my daughters on eBay. A used B&W is a
good value right now. The 450 should be a reliable and fairly fast machine
for you. I am guessing that you are upgrading from the Beige.

Two quick notes about the B&W. Try to find out if the machine you are
interested in is a Revision 2. The drive bays are laid out better for drive
upgrades, and the IDE chip update (402) are improvements that really make a

When you upgrade to OS X, I suggest you go to 10.3.2 (Panther), I have it
running on both of my daughters B&W with no issues, and it "feels" much
faster than Jag.
