OS X handles PC format without a problem. I have a card reader that uses the Mass Storage protocol on USB so it needs no driver.

Is there a Windows XP driver for this reader. If there is and there is no Mac driver then you're probably out of luck. If there is no XP driver then it is probably a Mass Storage compatible reader.

No, WinXP and ilk need no drivers, so it *should* be working. The web site says it should just work, no drivers needed. I'll fiddle with it a little more tomorrow. Where does fiddling time vanish to?? I have too many little projects I guess. It's good to hear that this stuff is usually trivial, perhaps I just have to put the card in the reader before I plug it in. Things like this sometimes work better if you have a powered hub, but I do not, yet.
