Beige G3 MT, 500 MHz G3 processor, 512 megs of ram 2x256, Mac OS X 10.2.x, 40 GB 7200 rpm drive, 4 port pci usb card, old intel pci 100/10 card.
I moved my G3 into a closet to act as a music player for my young daughter and the audio has not been right ever since. Basically when playing music through iTunes, each track sounds like it's under water. Garbled and distorted randomly. I've reseated the AV personality card many times with no change. Just got a audio only card off of eBay and the same problem.
I have also reformatted twice, going from 10.2 to 10.2.8 with no change. Removed the pci card with no change. Nothing I've done seems to make a difference. One thing though is the startup chime is not distorted.
Anyone have anything remotely like this happen and were able to solve it?
TIA,
Brent
