I've got the same problem with the 900 MHz ZIF in my B&W, occasionally my machine will freeze, at least the input/output will, sound'll die and mouse and keyboard won't respond, though it'll keep running, like if I'm running LimeWire I can see my download continue until I restart. Heatsink feels pretty hot when I open the case.
I had a similar problem wigth my B&W. I got a new desk and it had an section for a tower. Soon after I put my G3 in there it started crashing.
I didn't make the connection.
I took it to two different computer repair places and spent $100. They couldn't find anything wrong.
I'd bring it back, put it in that spot, and soon it would crash.
One time I left the tower on TOP my desk, and it didn't crash. Put it back. Crash.
FINALLY I made the connection.
