Thanks to all the suggestions I have received from y'all and some from IOMUG also. I have accomplished getting the USB mouse active again on this computer, score 1.
I must solve the non appearance of the CD on my desk top. I found Sierra High Access not among my Extensions, it is there now. A Mac friend visiting Baltimore area from Norway sent it to me, and I popped it in there. Hope it stays.
I also download and reinstalled from Apple's site OS 2.2.3. see no change at all.
I read Apple System Profiler to see what I can understand. On Devices and Volumes, it shows USB Printer and Mouse. Internal ATA 0 ID 0 HD shows the partitioned Maxtor nothing else. SCSI shows ID the external HD, ID 5 Removable media (?) nothing mounted.
PCI Slot C1 PCI Slot
Slot F1 Display.Where am I supposed to see the CD? Is there something that needs to be done to "connect" it so it appears someplace?
This is my question of the day.
Thanks, Terrie
