the same problem with the Lide 20. I removed it completely, redid the software,
then hooked it back up and plugged it in. Everything worked fine after that.

Does anyone have any experience with the Canon CanoScan LiDE 50? I have an iBook G4/256 RAM I cannot seem to get it to work. I followed the instructions for OS X installation, but I keep getting a message that it is not connected and it is! I have uninstalled, reinstalled, unplugged, replugged, switched USB ports, restarted the computer, but nothing seems to work. I keep reading the directions over and over, but nothing looks out of place. Does anyone have any ideas? I am at my wit's end.
