THis happens on two different beige G3 models, one of which is of a
questionable nature, the other of which I used to use so should be fine.

I can boot and install either OS 9.1 or 10.0.3 with no issue. Boots up,
installs, everything goes just fine. No problems.

Reboots.

And then it either boots from CD again or will spool CANT OPEN: for a few
lines, then kick over to the blinking floppy/? symbol. I can hear it poll
the drive every so often when it does that, too.

I've tried multiple IDE discs, same on both machines. I've tried SCSI
discs on the onboard bus, as well.

Always the same, on both machines.

Cleared the PRAM multiple times, both machines, as well. Including doing
it at least 10x in a row, as someone (Glenn?) once reocmmended. Last night
I yanked the batteries, see if that helps.

Any suggestions? What's the obvious thing that I'm missing?
