I took the hd out of my 5xxx and threw it into my G3desktop (bigger hd..) Anyway, it has 8.6 installed with all the ethernet exectentions and what have you, but when I try to connect via ethernet to my other G3, the only options are printer port or infred no ethernet.. Is there something I'm missing here?
Depends on the original install. If it was an "All Mac" install, and if the installer was newer than the G3 model, it will have the etheric support the G3 needs. If it was a "for this Mac" install, or older than that model G3...
