Although the 300 MHz and faster ZIFs were apparently only supplied with 
Rev. 3 mobos (which, of course, use Rev. C ROMs), fast processors, not 
necessarily Apple's, have been fitted to earlier mobo/ROM combos.

The DT maxed out at 266 MHz, and most of these were Rev. 2B mobos, 
although Rev. 3C mobos are not all that rare, particularly for those DTs 
made in 1998.

It's the 233 MHz machines which seemed to utilize mainly Rev. 1A mobos, 
although very early 266 MHz DTs and MTs certainly were made with Rev. 1A 
mobos as well.

Apple's replacement policy for its Beige and B&W machines is "like for 
like", in order to avoid upgrading or downgrading a customer's machine.
