Hi there, me again. Norton FileSaver has suddenly stopped scanning one of my partitions at shutdown. It happily scans all the others but not this one, though it does update directory information for it.
FileSaver corrupted its databases.
I have rebuilt the desktop
Finder is the only app that uses the desktop database. Why would you rebuild it if the visual icons aren't messed up, etc?
and re-installed Norton (5.0), to no avail. Wha'hoppen?
My real soln: Dump Norton.
But if you boot with exts off, delete all of FileSaver's invisible database files, and its prefs, then reboot... You should be able to get it working again.
- Dan.
