Hi:

Trying to make up my mind whether to use my Beige MT/Server as a server.
Or sell it (now that I have a B&W with a Radeon card in it and lots of
Ram. XLR8 MachSpeed card will probably be next!). The Beige has an
Ultra-Wide SCSI card and 9.1 Gig drive in it. I was planning to put Yellow
Dog Linux on it and use it as a file server on a mixed network.

I could buy an UltraTek/66 RAID Ultra ATA card, install it with a couple
of 120gig HDD's and be set. I don't know however if the Yellow Dog Linux
will allow use of the UltraTek card. Anyone using this combo? Problem is,
I have a hand built PC that is a Labrat (in other words I use it for
testing etc.) and it is being set up as a Samba server with hotswappable
drive bays and ATA/133 raid. It's running a 733 P3, which is a fair bit
more powerful than the 333MHz G3. It might be too much of a waste of
resources to build both. I like however to keep things running.

BTW: anyone got a 1.6 inch (half)height scsi drive in a normal drive bay
on a sled, and does it fit well?

Anyway options ideas etc. would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,
G.
