I recently acquired a Nikon Coolscan II (SCSI film) scanner (aka LS-20). The software available from Nikon (Nikon Scan 1.6.3) seems to only work under OS 7.x. The next version I could find (3.1.2) doesn't support the Coolscan II. I've tried other scanning software packages (VueScan, SilverFast) with similar results--they both need at least OS 9 plus $50-$60 =(.
I'd dual-boot OS 7.6.1 & 8.6 but I can't do that anymore since I upgraded to a G3! Has anyone out there had success with this scanner on OS 8.x? Is there any other third-party scanning software out there? Is there a way to get my G3 to boot OS 7.x?
