Hmmm I have never seen any mention of anyone trying to flash hardware
using the likes of VirtualPC.

My experience at flashing hardware consists of flashing a Sonnet ATA
PCI card so I could use RAID 0 & 1 instead of Sonnet's choice of just
RAID 1.

Was it you who asked if it was possible to use that newer Acard firmware
than the 2.4.7 firmware from Sonnet on this list a while ago?
So did you succeed in flashing the Sonnet ATA133 RAID card with the newer
Acard firmware?
I ask because I'm running RAID 0 with that card and am interested in RAID 0
& 1.

Marc,

I did mention some time back that I had flashed the Sonnet ATA133 card with the Acard firmware so I could use Mirroring instead of Stripping. It was relative easy since Acard made the PCI card that Sonnet sells. I can boot from the Mirrored RAID setup. I am running OSX Server on the RAID.

In my quote above I did not choose my words well. I should have said RAID 0 "or" RAID 1. To the best of my knowledge the Sonnet card is not capable of doing a combo RAID 0 + 1. To do that you need something like the Acard AEC-6885MS 4 Chanel PCI card.
