Sendable e-mail

I have a G3mt computer using OS 10.2.8. I have a group of friends on my 
e-mail list with whom I exchange funny messages. I received one the 
other day and tried to send it on, but a note came up saying the attempt 
to send failed. I tried several times, trying to send to an individual 
but nothing worked. Any suggestions?
