Describe what the freeze looks and behaves like. Do you get a kernel panic (a black screen with text in 10.2.8) or is the screen and interface just unresponsive? Does the mouse cursor move or not? Do you know about the console logs? If yes, what do they say? Do you have anything connected to the onboard FireWire and USB ports?

For the past week, I have been experiencing random system freezes a few
minutes after I start surfing the web.

Since these freezes occur randomly, I haven't been able to pinpoint a
cause except for the fact that I'm using a web browser.

At first I thought it was caused by the Omniweb beta, but when I
started using Safari and Firefox, the system still freezes.

I haven't added/changed any hardware in a long time and I'm thoroughly
perplexed by this problem.

Any ideas how to fix this?
