I am having a strange issue at startup. TextEdit is open showing a
.DS_Store file. The file in question seems to be from this path:

Hard Drive/Library/CFMSupport/.DS_Store

It just shows a few lines of gibberish, and the gibberish seems to change
with each new booting of the computer.

Anyone have an idea why this is happening? I don't know what the .DS_Store
files are...

For some reason this file is set in your startup items? (See Preferences > Accounts )

.DS_Store files are the normally invisile files that OS X places at the root of each volume, it stores metadata about the volume such as default view, window position, etc. It is a normal part of OS X.
