consider an upgrade, I have a g4/500 from owc new in the mail now, eagerly awaiting it. only 150 buck read really good reviews on it,

Similarly, my B&W G3 has a G4/500 Sonnet EncoreZIF upgrade in, and it runs like a dream (realtively). It's about as fast as a G4/800 iMac, unless you want t render fractals and play with photoshop filters :-). Combined with a Radeon 7000 ME 32MB PCI card and either ATA133 or SATA150, or faster (U2W or U160) SCSI, and a stack of RAM (max it out - 1GB), a G4 upgrade will provide reasonable levels of performance. If you only use the machine for home and light professional use (word proc., spread sheets, etc) it will more than suffice. If you are into heavyweight gaming or graphics you might want to invest the extra in a G4 proper. My recommendation is to go for a Digital Audio (466Mhz or faster) or later machine. The DA G4 board is much improved over the Sawtooth and offers greater compatibility with fast G4 and Dual G4 upgrades. It also has 4x AGP which is compatible with more modern AGP graphics cards (I think??).
