Apple supports both as in that you can burn to whichever format the drive is designed for, some drives even support both formats.

I suspect your drive id DVD-R (same as my 2x1GHz) which
means you'll only be able to burn the DVD-R disks.

Yes, DVD+RW is re-writable, but only burnable in a DVD+
drive. I've got an external HP DVD+RW drive so you could
always give them to me...   ;o)

...though I live in Sweden so the postage would probably
be more than I could buy them for here, and in any case
it was a joke.
