There was a time (Fri, Jun 18, 2004 at 11:14 PM) when Mark Gerber said this thing:
>I seem to have run into a problem in which my B+W can't see my printers >but has no problem with the tablet and mouse--something to do with the >USB message below I suspect. > >This is what happened: >I launched Quark for the first time in a very long time which started >Classic. Short story shorter: it froze pretty quickly and I had to force >restart for the first time in months. > >Upon restart I held command-s to start up in single user mode and was a >little surprised to see, first that the monitor was in a much lower >resolution (this gets set correctly once the log in process starts), and >second, the following string of text comes up on the screen at the point >I was about to enter 'fsck -y': > >---------- >run '/sbin/fsck -y' first and then '/sbin/mount+ -uw/' >sh-2.05a# USBF:36.650 +AppleUSBOHCI[0x20a2000]::ReturnOneTransaction >(0xa00cc8c, 0x20c8fa4, e0004051) >USBF:42.650 +AppleUSBOHCI[0x20a2000]::ReturnOneTransaction (0xa00bbd0, >0x20c8fa4, e0004051) >USBF:45.650 +AppleUSBOHCI[0x20a2000]::ReturnOneTransaction (0xa00bca8, >0x20c8fa4, e0004051) >USBF:48.651 +AppleUSBOHCI[0x20a2000]::ReturnOneTransaction (0xa00bb64, >0x20c8fa4, e0004051) >USBF:54.651 +AppleUSBOHCI[0x20a2000]::ReturnOneTransaction (0xa00bad4, >0x20c8fa4, e0004051) >USBF:60.651 +AppleUSBOHCI[0x20a2000]::ReturnOneTransaction (0xa00ba68, >0x20c8fa4, e0004051) >USBF:66.651 +AppleUSBOHCI[0x20a2000]::ReturnOneTransaction (0xa00b9fc, >0x20c8fa4, e0004051) >USBF:72.651 +AppleUSBOHCI[0x20a2000]::ReturnOneTransaction (0xa00b870, >0x20c8fa4, e0004051) >USBF:78.651 +AppleUSBOHCI[0x20a2000]::ReturnOneTransaction (0xa00b804, >0x20c8fa4, e0004051) >USBF:84.651 +AppleUSBOHCI[0x20a2000]::ReturnOneTransaction (0xa00b798, >0x20c8fa4, e0004051) >USBF:90.651 +AppleUSBOHCI[0x20a2000]::ReturnOneTransaction (0xa00b72c, >0x20c8fa4, e0004051) >---------- >(I hope I've copied all those number/letter combinations correctly.) > >I have a Wacom and a USB hub plugged into the back of the machine. >The USB hub has a Microsoft mouse, an Epson scanner/printer, and an HP >printer. I can now print from both printers -- so the world is once again spinning in greased grooves. I'd still be interested to know what those messages were during the single user startup if anyone can enlighten me on that. Thanks.
