ah ha - so the 1st bus is 66 and the 2nd is 33? i spose that'd make since as the 2nd has slower drives on it.
see what you mean about the heat thing, something i hadn't even considered and a major problem (just walked into the office to find one of our external firewire drives sat in brilliant sunlight... doh). we leave this machine on all the time so i can see the drives getting pretty hot. so i think the best bet is to put two more drives in on a ata pci card. i spose this also means i could use a faster ata/drive mechanism? that would be no bad thing. thanks for the advice, jake -- G-List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
