How long have you had your canon scanner? We had a canon printer that only lasted through one ink cartridge. I see a lot of cannon and epson printers and scanners. Maybe we just got a lemon out of the bunch.

I'd love to know canon scanners work well and last.
I'm afraid of any epson scanners because of the bugginess of our current epson scanner.
BTW, I'm needing to scan old books and reformat them, add words and maybe pictures to the document. Should I be looking for a specific scanner for that need? Would the lite versions of OCR software supply what I need in order to do that?
