None that I ever encountered. I ran 10.2.6 on my old
PTP and that was
all SCSI. I have an Adaptec SCSI card in my MDD
supporting two
external HD's and it runs fine under 10.3.4. Not all
SCSI cards are
supported under OS X. Just be sure to check the
manufacturers web site
for any card you are looking at buying.
End of quote.

I ran into some SCSI-problems myself installing OSX for
the first time on my beige. I had a Sonnet Trio PCI
combo-card installed for USB/FireWire/UATA which had a
conflict with my standard Apple/Atto UW-SCSI-controller
(the standard in beige servers).

First I flashed the Apple/Atto-card to a "real" Atto-card
but this didn't resolve the conflict. I still had a
Formac UW-PCI-controller floating around so I tried that
one even though the Formac-site declares that the card
isn't supported in OSX. I flashed the Formac-card to the
latest firmware (just to make sure) and presto! No more
conflict ...

I'm running OSX 10.3.4 now with my old 18 gig IBM UW-SCSI
drive on the Formac card (OS 9.2.2 is on it, my Classic
environment which is still way faster) and I have OSX on
both partitions of a 160 gig UATA Maxtor drive which get
updated every once in a while with CCC.

There is a second 120 gig Maxtor on the second bus of the
Trio card for storage of CD-images and such. Has been
working like a charm for months now. I'm looking for a
cheap faster G4 Zif but they seem non-existent for now
...

Jrg.
