Hi all, I have a G3 AIO running OS X 10.2.8. I upgraded its HD from the included 4GB drive to 80GB, and also threw in more RAM. Maybe get a CPU upgrade too. Anyway, the question I came here to ask is about the video card. If I want to upgrade it and still use the built-in monitor, I believe I have two choices, correct me if I'm wrong:
1) Just add 4MB of video memory and be done with it. 2) Add a PCI video card (Radeon 7000 maybe), then hack the internal monitor cable so it leads outside of the case and connects to the PCI card's VGA connector. The second option sounds more fun to me, so... anyone know how to do this? The Personality card has two cables that seem to go to the monitor. One is a ribbon cable, and the other is an apparently proprietary three-wire cable with a 10-pin female connector. From what I've read online, the three-wire cable is the video signal. But what's the ribbon cable for? And anyone have info on the pin assignment for the video cable, in order to stick a VGA connector on it? Jeff -- G-List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
