probably not depending on the resolution you are capturing at.  which model power 
book? 
also, for video there are special "AV" drives that do a better job because of the drive
being able to synchronize with the video and avoid waiting for it to turn nearly all of
the way around frequently to get to the block you want to write again.  in any case you
want to defragment the drive before you try this.
