I have two hard drives on a G4 500 -- one running OS 9.0.4 and the other, a
new drive, running a fresh install of Mac OS 10.3 (Panther). My problem is,
when I go to the "Startup Disk" control panel in OS 9, the Panther system
folder on the auxiliary drive is not recognized. In fact, the second drive
doesn't appear on the desktop after the Mac boots into OS 9. How do I get
the Mac, while running in OS 9, to give me the option of booting into the
Panther OS that is installed on the second drive? Is a software update to OS
9.2.2 on the original drive necessary?
